SuperiuS was formed in January 2004 by a group of musicians and amateurs with the purpose of promoting musical activities involving young people.
Its first step has been the setting up of a chamber orchestra — the Camerata Strumentale–Timişoara — formed by young musicians selected by maestro Enrico Cannata among students and neo-graduates from the Faculty of Music, Universitatea de Vest of Timişoara.
Moreover SuperiuS promotes young soloists, organizes summer and winter seminars for all instruments, brings out scores.
The Camerata Strumentale–Timişoara can already boast that careful training which distinguishes permanent orchestras. Its repertory ranges from the early Baroque to the pre-Classical music, with special regard for Italian composers (Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Mercadante, Cimarosa, Rossini etc).
This ensemble is characterized by the choice of pieces from an unpublished repertory; performances in a philologist key; the revaluation of "neglected" solo instruments such as contrabass, piccolo, bassoon, horn.
The Camerata Strumentale–Timişoara already has to its credit various successful performances live recorded on CD and DVD.
The Camerata Strumentale–Timişoara has attended the International Festival of Youth Orchestras in Florence and Arezzo (July 2006).
